He knows the quarterly reporting will make him look bad. Read bad. So what does he do? Calls on companies to get rid of it. Maybe it's time to divest out of US stocks. There's nothing he can do to hide that disaster.

The reason(s) why Trump might call for this are pretty obvious, but what consequences does this have? Quarterly reporting has some benefits to investors, maybe holding CEO/COO/CFO's feet to the fire or something. That means that ditching quarterly reports is removing one leg of a stool. To not do quarterly reporting, don't you have to restructure other parts of the markets, or add other information sharing?
