Study: Social media influencers increase the toxicity, power of misinformation (cardiff.ac.uk)

Who decides what is "misinformation"?

This seems to be the latest buzzword for dealing with dissident opinion.

They define this:

“The influencers presented their claims as exposés of industry deceit, despite offering no verifiable evidence to support them.”

So, misinformation = make claim with no supporting, verifiable evidence. Seems like a pretty standard, neutral definition.

That would apply to some things and not others.

A heck of a lot of things in life are subjective. Even respectable academia can have multiple views on some things, in fact it's bad if they don't.
