▲34% of U.S. women under age 50 have iron deficiency under new guidelines (empirical.health)

IMO, one of the most interesting things about the new hematology guidelines is that they're likely to get people treatment for symptoms like fatigue or low energy. A lot of doctors consider these "vague" complaints that are hard to diagnose. For some fraction of those cases, low ferritin or iron might be low hanging fruit.

After discovering my ferritin has been in range for ~4 years after raising it from 10-28, I finally did some research online and am just surprised at everything I learned. Even lower than 70 seems like it can hinder things.
